ULTIMATE AVENGERS #5

Written by Mark Millar and Illustrated by Carlos Pacheo /Marvel Comics – The showdown between Nick Fury’s ‘secret’ team of ‘new’ Avengers and Captain America’s illegitimate son, the Ultimate Red Skull, reaches a boiling point, as the red-faced goon makes use of his recently acquired Cosmic Cube.  Millar manages to make War Machine, Nerd Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye all look like girl scouts in comparison to the fight the Skull has left in him, which is a good thing I guess, because Cap’s on his way to give his little boy a spanking.  There’re a couple great jokes at the expense of the French, and Pacheo’s pencils combined with Dexter Vines’ inks are out of this world.  I can’t wait for the next issue.
